Robert (Bob) C. Harris, Jr., P.E., has served as the vice president of environmental and program management for the Alabama Port Authority since 2011. He joined the Port Authority in 1995 as a director’s assistant.
The Auburn University graduate has over 30 years of engineering and environmental management experience. Bob manages the Port’s engineering and capital improvement program, environmental compliance, federal grants and dredging management program. In addition, Bob took a lead role in APA’s efforts to redevelop Brownfield properties along the Mobile River.
Bob has served as chairman of the Harbors and Navigation Committee chairman and a member of the Environment Committee of the American Association of Port Authorities. In addition to his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree, he has a Master of Business Administration from Murray State University and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
Married to Mary Dunwody Harris, they have two sons, Robert and Michael, and three grandchildren.
