The Port of Mobile is vital to the economic growth for the Gulf Coast and the entire state of Alabama. More than 161,130 jobs are generated by activity at the port’s public and private terminals on an annual basis.
The Port of Mobile annually handles about 58 million tons of international and domestic cargo for exporters and importers delivering $26.8 billion in economic value to the state each year.
The Port of Mobile is continuing to expand in order to accommodate for and generate even further economic growth and job creation for the state of Alabama. With the infrastructure in place to handle the maximum quantity of cargo to move through the port in the most efficient way possible, the port will continue to be the hub of immense growth for the state’s economy.
