Bill Inge

Vice President of General Cargo and Central Services 

William “Bill” Inge III was appointed vice president of general cargo and central service for the Alabama Port Authority in 2019. Bill has over 40 years of transportation industry experience.

The University of the South graduate began his career at Ryan Walsh Stevedoring and Dole Fresh Fruits. At Dole, Bill worked in the Gulf, East and West Coasts of the United States; Puerto Rico; Mexico; and Central America. His negotiation, operations management and strategic planning skills led to his selection for the transition team that managed Dole’s relocation from the Los Angeles Terminal to the Port of San Diego.  

Bill joined the Alabama Port Authority staff in 2007 as an operations manager and, in 2011, was named general cargo/intermodal manager. As VP, he represents the Alabama Port Authority as a Gulf Port Association of the Americas member and serves as the Gulf Seaports Marine Terminal Conference chairman.
