Vice President of General Cargo and Central Services
William (Bill) Inge, III, was appointed vice president of general cargo and central service for the Alabama Port Authority in 2019. Bill has over 40 years of transportation industry experience and joined APA in 2007.
The University of the South graduate began his career at Ryan Walsh Stevedoring and Dole Fresh Fruits. At Dole, Bill worked in the Gulf, East and West Coasts of the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Central America. His negotiation, operations management and strategic planning skills aided in his selection to join the transition team for Dole’s relocation from the Los Angeles Terminal to the Port of San Diego.
Bill joined the Alabama Port Authority staff as an operations manager and, in 2011, was named general cargo/intermodal manager. As VP, he represents Alabama Port Authority as a Gulf Port Association of the Americas member and serves as the Gulf Seaports Marine Terminal Conference chairman.
